What is all the excitement about this tiny baby born over 2000 years ago? Certainly, whenever there is a birth, everyone is waiting in anticipation to see the newborn child. But what about the One called Jesus? Why is He so special? Why did the Magi seek after Him? Why celebrate His birth so many years after He left the Earth? Surely there have been many more babies born and after they depart their earthly existence, we may in passing say something but not a holiday set aside. While mortal men may argue the reason for this, my opinion is that God gets the honor and glory in everything He has done. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived as a man, suffered, and died for all mankind. But after all this was accomplished, after He had been buried in the borrowed tomb, He arose after three days! He overcame sin and death for all. Is this a reason to honor Him? Is this a reason to glorify His name? Is this a reason to set Him apart? He is God and unless this were so, He could not have done these miraculous works. I encourage you to read the Gospel accounts of His life. Yes, all four so that you may see from a different perspective the wonderful, awesome, miraculous, powerful loving God that has provided everything for your life here and all eternity.
